High-Security Measures

Okay, so some jack a** hacked into our computer. I don't quite understand hacking, so I'm even more paranoid than I need to be, most likely. Either way, I'm making our blog "private" at least for a little while, until our computer feels safe again. I tried to send an invitation to everyone in my address book, but if you didn't get one, email me. I'll add you into the elite bunch. (You won't be reading this, though... hm... I guess the rest of you can spread the word.) Sorry to add all the stupid extra security measures, but it's better than our identity being stolen, or our child for that matter. Yes, like I said: paranoid.

For those of you concerned... thus far, all that has been definitely hacked has been our World of Warcraft account. Someone stole our password, then went in and deleted most of our (all of MY) characters, sold everything in our bags and took our gold. Devastating, yes. But it's just a game. I'm not super sad about it, except that it means that someone (or some computer program, Derek assures me... unsuccessfully) accessed something of ours; they could do it again, this time to something more important than a game.

If you have any tips as to how to avoid this in the future and/or how to kill a hacker, please share. Until then, enjoy the annoying word verification and logging in prior to accessing our beautiful blog. Sorry and thanks. Have a great day!

Wow, you poor girl! It happens all the time, unfortunately. Let's home the damage never goes further than your WOW characters. If you do find some sort of solution to this problem, I hope you'll share it with me, because I know my network is not encrypted and not very secure... luckily, no one else in Garland knows how to use a computer! ;) I'm kidding... kind of.

I've had my email hacked into and even found the person who did it. I know how I handled it...what would you have done?

Hello! I told andy about what happened to your Wow account and he couldn't believe it. Make sure your computer is virus and spyware free.

So, what's the new book club book? I only want to go if I read the book, so you gotta tell me what it is. :)

Okay... so the hack was strictly WoW-related, and they (Blizzard- the WoW company) restored the damage, if that makes sense. Also, we now have like 3 anti-virus/security softwares (can that be plural?) on our computer, so I think we're safe. Because of this, and because I think it's super inconvenient and annoying to have it set to "private," I'm making the blog public again.

If you are a hacker or a pervert-- GO AWAY! If you're a friend or family member, enjoy the less-annoying blog access (for now, atleast)
