I was recently "tagged" to list six of my quirks. I was hesitant to participate, since I couldn't think of any... then they started flowing, and I realized I am most definitely quirky. :) Here are but a few.
Quirk #1: I cannot handle crooked picture frames. I don't just want to correct one when I see it, I need to. So if I walk into your house and immediately start straightening something, don't take it personally. Really.
Quirk #2: I don't read books; I DEVOUR them. I want a book to be at most a 2-day vacation... sometimes more like an 8 hour one. I read pretty quickly, so this helps, but I'm not satisfied until I reach the "amen."
Quirk #3: I absolutely must pee right before bed. Even if I went to the bathroom then brushed my teeth then got a drink, and all of 3 minutes have passed ... I've gotta give it a try one more time. Maybe I wet the bed a lot as a kid, or maybe I'm just slightly nuts.
Quirk #4: I lock the front door when I come in, not when I go out. This quirk only started when James was born... I live in a pretty safe town and neighborhood, and though the threat of burglary doesn't frighten me much, I am terrified that someone will sneak in and steal my kid!
Quirk #5: I was out of introspective energy, so I asked Derek to tell me some of my quirks. His automatic response was, of course, "I don't know." But after he thought about it, he suggested this one: I sing even rock and roll like a sweet, country ballad. Ugh. It's true. I try so hard to sound angry and loud, and Derek just laughs and tells me how sweet I sound. Lame. But at least it's not yet another OCD tendency... it's nice to know that's not the only kind of quirk I've got. :)
Quirk #6: I have been blessed with funky, oh-so-useful "talents." Among them: I can clap with one hand. I can put my feet behind my head. Don't ask to see it; it's not pretty.
Movie flashback:
A: You are totally mysterious!
B: No, I'm weird. Mysterious and weird are two very different things.
A: I'm weird!
B: No, you're quirky. Quirky and weird are two very different things!
(Name that movie.)
So there you have it. My quirks. Don't judge me... it's who I am. ;)

hey quirky. just checkin out your blog- we had stake conference today so we're home early. I'm waiting for Jorge to finish a horse training video (sinner, I know) so we can eat lunch. NICE picture. Weird and quirky- run away bride. Love ya!
Runaway Bride! Am I right? Seems like Joan Cusack said it to Julia Roberts. I share the bathroom quirk--I often have to go again right before sleep, even if all I did since the last trip was change into jammies or something. You are such a book nerd. That really means something coming from an English teacher.
Hey Bec, what a sweet comment on my blog! I responded, but I never really know if you check back so I thought I'd let you know that was really sweet {about the picture}
-I meant to have pics taken to correspond with the new layout being put up but the designer was so quick and we got rained out last week for our pics so I don't have one up yet... but I will be putting a new one up soon.
Thanks for being a reader, it makes all of the hard work worth it!
PS-your new layout is really cute too!
Bec gotta say I love all these quirks about you! You are hilarious! And I have often thought it very strange that you only lock the door when you are home?! So funny. But I do have to say I love that you straighten picture frames any time you need to straighten one of mine go ahead!
Becca, don't ever move to Philadelphia. You would get robbed and/or mugged so fast!
I am the same way about the bathroom...weird. Derek was right on about the rock song, sounding like a sweet country-ish song. You have a beautiful voice.
Are you going to post a video of that one-hand clapping? Make sure it has audio, too!
