This morning I put James in his crib with his box-o-toys and let him play while I showered. I had just gotten out of the shower, and I got nervous because I didn't hear anything. Naturally, I went into his room to see what was (or wasn't) going on. This is what I found...
James has learned to pull himself up using his crib rails! Great... one more hazard to worry about. Although it genuinely does worry me, it was pretty adorable. Especially when he flashed that brand new devilish smile! Then he decided to eat the railing...
Notice how pleased he is with himself. He's so proud (I am too, tell no one). What a trouble maker!! ;)

Cute! You're in for it, babe. It's all over from here. Soon he'll crawl, then walk, then jump, run, throw, etc, and that's when the real parenting begins. Watch that rail-eating habit, too: he might try to sharpen his teeth on it when they are breaking through the gums. Speaking of rails, Rory will be switching to toddler rails in the very near future (best to keep them in the full cage as long as possible). AND, I wrote a new blog post but you haven't read it yet. I'm hurt. But you're forgiven because I never write...so why check?
What a milestone! I will never forget the day I go walking in and the little turd is standing and grinning from ear to ear! Now there are scraping teeth marks on the sides. I have that plastic on the front, but he loves the sides to grind the teethers on. For a while, it was seriously a pain when Kona was standing. He didn't really get how to get back down. So he'd whine, and I'd have to go in and lay him back down. Such a pain! But oh the fun! The family of See misses the family of And!

That's nothing. I can stand up without the aid of my bed, or any furniture for that matter.

That is the cutest "devil" smile I have ever seen. What a stud, he knows how to work his mommy, already. That smile would make me melt too.
