Update Overload 1 of ??

I've been pretty absent from the blogging world lately. I guess it's because real life has been pretty busy (and fun). Lots has been going on. Where do I even begin? I have like a billion (author tends to exaggerate) pictures to show off, too. So maybe I will tell a tale and upload, upload, upload pics. Sound like a good plan? Too bad... I'm already started.

I will begin with James' new accomplishments. For one, James has learned how to drink from a cup. He knows to hold it with both hands, is semi-good at tipping it back to get a swig, and loves tapping his teeth on the glass (perhaps more than acquiring water). Sometimes, however, he gets carried away... and then so do I--with a rag.

Thanks to Grandma Marilyn, by the way, for the awesome highchair. It was her Christmas present to him, though we didn't actually "pick it up" until recently. James loves it, and so do I since I don't have to fight with him about bucking out of his Bumbo seat anymore. Thank you, Grandma!

He has also learned how to pull himself up onto just about everything. Seriously, everything. And it happened fast, too. All of the sudden, I would be walking by, and he'd lunge for my pj pants and try to pull himself up. (It's that bad... ) We got "new" furniture (Thank you, Grandma Julie!!) recently which included a coffee table. James had deemed it his TEETHING table, but just as well... as we don't drink coffee. lol.

This picture is from when he just started pulling himself up (just onto his knees), though within about 24 hours he was onto his feet. He can even play with a toy while standing next to the coffee table. He is (and we are) pretty proud of his new feat.

And we had to lower the mattress in his crib because this, too, has become a standing-aid. He generally pulls himself up, and we generally have to put the rails up, too. This, however, is a picture of him (camera wedged into the doorway, hoping he wouldn't see) waking up from a nap. He is a caged bird and sings, "Let me outta here!!" Very funny. He's fun.

And if you're wondering why it looks like his room is a giant cloud, it's because it's TRUE. James has a sinus infection, and we run to evaporator to help him sleep. With the door closed and the vapor coming and coming, the air is as thick as London fog.

(To be continued...)

I am super impressed with the cup trick. My girls would not even hold their own bottles at that age. . . actually they never held their own bottles. Good job James!

First off, James is getting hair! (that shows how long it's been since I've seen you guys, boo.) Bravo to the cup thing, we're still working on it. For some reason, Kona likes it to pour down his front when he's done drinking from it. Grr.
